Interesting! Yes, I agree. Ellen (like so many Victorian women) is forced to hide her power when interacting with Thomas and their friends. But not with Orlok - or the Professor (who immediately recognizes that there's more to Ellen, than she presents - that in ancient Egypt, she would have been a powerful high priestess).

And of course, I LOVE that line from Coppola's Dracula: "I've crossed oceans of time to find you..." Swoon-worthy, for sure. Supposedly, that line was the one that convinced Gary Oldman, after reading the script, to agree to play Dracula.
