I really do not remember any kind of backstory of Remmick, let alone his name or that we know about how he came to America. (I just asked my spouse, who went to the movies with me, and they agree. It's not just MY memory then, haha.) The writer states in the beginning of their essay that their only sources were multiple viewings of Sinners, so I'm wondering where they have their info from.
I'm intrigued by the idea of Dracula being framed as a conqueror; these shades of grey make the original story only more appealing and make me take a closer look at Stoker-- I call that a win-win situation. :)
